Phoenix men pull away early in tourney-opening win over Southern Utah

RENO -- Heading into its first game of the World Vision Classic, the UW-Green Bay men's basketball team knew it would need more from Alec Brown than the two points he scored in the season-opener if they wanted to come away with the win.

So when the 7-foot-1 center exited the game early in the first half after being hit in the eye, it fell on the rest of the team to make plays with its big man out.

A strong first half performance from sophomore guard Keifer Sykes followed by Brown's eventual return late in the period was all it took for the Phoenix to come away with a 66-54 victory over Southern Utah to ...
