The biggest issue at this year's On Broadway Inc. annual meeting should have resolved itself this weekend when the Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridge was scheduled to reopen after being out of service since early September.

"Businesses were not happy. Not having that throughway open is a negative impact for us," said Christopher Naumann, executive director of On Broadway Inc.

The closing impacted the weekly farmers market and caused daily traffic backups, which did nothing to help business along the street. ...
