Kicker Jason Hanson is a nothing short of a marvel. At 42, he's made 82.2 percent of his field goal attempts in his 21-year NFL career and still has a strong leg. This year he's 18-for-20 (90 percent), including 1-for-1 from 50 yards or more.
Punter Nick Harris, who's 34, is losing the pop in his leg. He ranks No. 32 in the NFL in gross average (41.3 yards ) and No. 30 in net average (36.8 yards), and speculation started this week that the Lions might start looking at punters soon.
Stefan Logan (5-6, 180) is a good dual return man and ranks No. 8 in the NFL in punt-return average (10.4 yards) and No. 25 in kickoff-return average (20.1 yards).
The Lions' cover teams were abysmal early in the season and gave up four touchdowns (two on punts, two on kickoffs) in the first four games but have been fine since.
