Jennings feeling good -- finally

Nov. 21, 2012

Chances are, Greg Jennings wont play Sunday when the Packers meet the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium.

But today, one day shy of three weeks following his abdominal surgery, he wasnt ready to write that off completely.

Me personally I dont feel Im a longshot, Jennings said after his first practice work since his Nov. 1 surgery. I feel great, the body feels great. This is my first day going out there and actually getting on the ground, running some routes, catching some balls, getting my underneath me. Just seeing how it feels again to be part of the group, part of the guys. Today was a big step for me. Whether or not Ill play this week, thats still to be determined.

As far as health, I want to see how I feel tomorrow and how I respond to what took place today.

Jennings said after taking part in a few periods of practice on the field, he went inside the Don Hutson Center to work on his conditioning.

My wind is horrible right now, so Im trying to get my wind under wraps, he said. But other than that, I felt great.

In fact, Jennings said this is the best he has felt since the start of training camp.

He has missed the last six games and seven of the last nine.

Well see where he is tomorrow, coach Mike McCarthy said. It will be a stretch for him to be ready (for the Giants game). I know hed like to push through. Well have to see (and) let the week work out, see how much he does day to day.
