A warm Thanksgiving Day in Green Bay broke a weather record and tied another.

A high of 61 degrees recorded about 1:46 p.m. Thursday in the Green Bay area surpassed the Nov. 22 high of 59 degrees set in 1963.

The temperature also tied the Thanksgiving Day record high, which was set on Nov. 26 in 1896 and 1914, said Roy Eckberg, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Ashwaubenon.

The warm temperatures are not expected to stay as a forecast high in the low-to-mid 30s is expected Friday in Green Bay, with possible off-and-on flurries.
