Mosinee Girl Scout troops donate supplies to Superstorm Sandy victims

After Superstorm Sandy displaced a Girl Scout troop in New Jersey, a handful of local Girl Scouts joined forces to donate blankets and supplies to help their sister troop begin rebuilding.

It all began in April, when Becky Korte of Mosinee and her family were on vacation in the Cayman Islands and her 10-year-old daughter, Emily, made friends with another girl in the pool.

While at dinner one night, the two Girl Scout families - one from New Jersey, one from Wisconsin - discussed exchanging addresses for the troops to become pen pals and learn about differences between life in the two states. The ...
