Morning roundup: McCarthy adjusting to help protect Rodgers

Nov. 29, 2012

The Packers close their season with four games against NFC North Division rivals in their last five games, starting Sunday at home against Minnesota.

One of the Packers' points of emphasis this week is protecting quarterback Aaron Rodgers after two rough outings for the offensive line without right tackle Bryan Bulaga, who's out for the rest of the season because of a hip injury. The Packers had even worse issues with sacks in 2009, and coach Mike McCarthy appears to be making similar adjustments as he did then, according to a story by Pete Dougherty: http://tinyurl.com/d7ftwja

Vikings halfback Adrian Peterson has made a stunning recovery from knee-reconstruction, as outlined in this story by Dougherty: http://tinyurl.com/ca4xfh3

The Packers probably won't have defensive lineman C.J. Wilson this week because of a knee injury, which as Rob Demovsky's notebook points out takes a bite out of their run defense against Peterson: http://tinyurl.com/bsd7qcs
