Packers outside linebacker Clay Matthews won't play again today against Minnesota because of the hamstring injury he sustained on Nov. 4 against Arizona.
He hasn't practiced since.
Perhaps he will return next Sunday against Detroit or the following week at Chicago.
Whenever he does, expect the Packers to be extremely cautious in order to prevent the problem for recurring during the stretch run or the playoffs.
"Obviously Clay will be out there playing, and then we’ll decide what we do with how we share the time," Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers said this week. "And we’ll have to be smart with Clay when he comes back. You’re coming back off a hamstring, we’ll have to be smart in terms of if we have a play count for him and all those things. Those are things that are yet to be decided."
