Liz Vang will be ringing bells for the Salvation Army's Red Kettle drive three times this season.

Vang, 28, of Stevens Point, knows maybe better than most how important that money is for the nonprofit, which runs Stevens Point's Hope Center for the homeless in Portage County.

"I think it's the right thing to do," Vang said of being a volunteer bell ringer. "I was homeless before and know how it feels to need help." ...
