Element Mobile has appointed an interim chief operating to replace Jerry Wilke, who will leave the company at the end of this week, the Wisconsin Rapids-based cellphone service provider announced today.

Al Aymar, the company's director of product management, will fill the executive post on an interim basis, starting Monday, said Jackie Shea, an Element Mobile spokeswoman. Aymar has been with Element since June 2010 and has worked in the telecommunications and wireless industry for 14 years.

Aymar holds a bachelor of science degree in economics and a master of business administration, according to an Element Mobile news release.

Wilke will move to Colorado, where he will lead efforts in business development and strategic planning for West Corp., a major global telecommunications services provider, according to the news release. His last day at Element is Friday.

During his tenure, Wilke led the foundation of a wireless company, built a state-of-the-art switch and data network and created a business personality for Element that made it a true partner to the communities it serves, said Doug Wenzlaff, board chairman for Element Mobile, in the news release.
