Local doctor, community volunteer, embarks on retirement

Dr. Roy Dunlap was hardly taking it easy on his final day of work with Ministry Medical Group on Monday, evidenced by the fact he was a few minutes late to a small farewell reception at Ministry Saint Michael's Hospital.

"They just kept on sending patients in," Dunlap joked as he arrived.

Dunlap, 66, has been an ear, nose and throat doctor since 1978 and has been practicing with Ministry Medical Group since 1999. Today he begins his retirement with a more than 1,300-mile drive to Taos, N.M., where he will join Jane, his wife of 44 years. ...
