On paper, there was little reason to suggest Ryan Conat was ready to enjoy a breakout senior season.

Through his first three years in the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point wrestling program, Conat put together a rather ordinary 47-34 record, including a 19-11 run as a junior.

But there were a number of people - namely Pointers coach Johnny Johnson and, more importantly, Conat himself - who believed in him and his desire to make his final college season one to remember. ...
