Running back Ryan Grant, who turns 30 on Sunday, is coming back to the injury-riddled Packers, an NFL source confirmed to the Press-Gazette.

The Packers, who havenít announced the move, are turning to Grant after James Starks injured his knee against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

Grant played for the Packers from 2007 to 2011 but the team didnít re-sign him.
Grant eventually signed with the Washington Redskins but played in just one game before getting cut and has been out of football since then.

Last season while splitting carries with Starks, Grant rushed for 559 yards and two touchdowns and caught 19 passes for 268 yards for the Packers.

ESPN Milwaukee originally reported the signing, saying Grant flew to Green Bay Tuesday night and signed after a workout this morning. The Packers have not announced the move but are expected to before today's practice, which is at 11 a.m.
