Packers coach Mike McCarthy spoke to the media following Wednesday's practice. Here are some highlights from his news conference:
*Mike Neal has a shoulder injury and was limited Wednesday.
*Ryan Grant looks good. He's in very good shape. It's great to have him back. Walked into the locker room and got a standing ovation.
*Ryan has great history with us. He stepped right in. The offense has evolved but I don't see him having any issues.
*I don't think we expect him to go out and play 60 plays, but we'll let the week's work give us information on where he is.
*Expect Ryan Grant to be available Sunday.
*James Starks, it'll definitely be multiple weeks. It was something that flared up Monday. James felt he was fine to play but they checked into more tests and didn't like what they saw.
*Jordy Nelson and Clay Matthews are getting better. I don't know if they'll be ready this week.
*It was great to have Charles Woodson out there. He's getting close. Worked throughout the team.
*Jeff Saturday is sore. It's really this time of the year. We've had our dose of them.
*DuJuan Harris. He's a young man. We don't have any game experience with him. He's 5-7 but otherwise like everything else about him.
*Alex Green has to be ready for carries. He's been playing all year. Had him on rep count.
*Mike Neal, I don't really have any information on his injury. I probably won't have much information until tomorrow. Don't feel great about what medical staff told me, but we'll know more tomorrow.
*T.J. Lang, really don't have a feeling one way or another. It's not progressing the way he'd like.
*We scaled back about as far as we can go. We only had two team periods. We're being smart with our guys. We're pushing the envelope in having 46 healthy.
