Neenah pursues penalties against tavern

Police want to suspend or revoke the liquor license for Chief's Bar, 208 Main St., because they say the operators violated a series of state and local laws.

Co-owners Mary Culver and Joni Wood have been summoned to appear Tuesday before the city's Public Services and Safety Committee to respond to the charges, which include operating after hours and refusing entry to police. The committee will make a recommendation to the Common Council.

Culver said she intends to refute all of the charges. ...
