A Brown County jury took about 2.5 hours Thursday to reject an argument that a 22-year-old Green Bay man had no intention of killing his live-in girlfriend when he stabbed her to death earlier this year in their west side home.

The seven women and five men on the jury found Richard Gardipee guilty of first-degree intentional homicide-domestic abuse and of misdemeanor obstructing an officer in the June 30 death of Wendy Garcia.

The homicide conviction carries a mandatory life prison sentence, but Judge Donald Zuidmulder will determine on Jan. 25 whether Gardipee will ever be eligible for ...
