Coaches: UWGB - Brian Wardle (32-37, third season); Tennessee Tech - Steve Payne (23-17, second season).

Series: This is the first meeting between the schools. It was one of two games the Phoenix added to replace Butler after the Bulldogs left the Horizon League last spring. Tennessee Tech will play at the Resch Center next season.

UWGB update: This is the middle game of a three-game road trip that began with Saturday's 67-51 loss at Virginia and ends with Wednesday's game at Wisconsin. This is the Phoenix's sixth game away from the Resch Center this season and its fourth true road game. It is just 1-4 away from home, including 0-3 in those true road games. UWGB's last true road win came in the regular-season finale last season at Illinois-Chicago. Its last nonconference road win came on Dec. 22, 2010, at Wyoming. It has lost 11 straight road nonconference games (not counting neutral site games). ? Junior center Alec Brown's effectiveness has been limited by foul trouble this season. He's averaging just 26.1 minutes per game. Last season, he averaged 31.3 minutes per game. ? Sophomore guard Keifer Sykes has scored in double figures in all but one game this season (nine points against Cal State Fullerton) and has reached double figures in 21 of his last 24 games dating to last season.

Tennessee Tech update: The Golden Eagles return three starters from last year's team that went 19-14 and played in the CollegeInsider.com Tournament. Among those players they lost was lost leading scorer Kevin Murphy (20.6 ppg), who was a second-round pick of the Utah Jazz. They return second leading scorer Jud Dillard, who averaged 17.3 ppg last season. ? They were picked third in the Ohio Valley Conference's East division behind Belmont and Tennessee State. Murray State was picked to win the OVC West. ? Among their early-season opponents was another Horizon League team, Loyola, which beat the Golden Eagles 81-78 on Nov. 28 in Chicago.
