On top of already hectic schedules, the holiday season brings with it the pressure to buy gifts for family and friends, wrap and perhaps ship packages out in the coming weeks. Many will be cooking meals and/or baking for guests or parties, which probably means a good amount of house cleaning. Whether you are staying home or traveling, the effects of squeezing in so much revelry in a short time can add up to stress. A mental health break — meditation is a good one — can help you relax enough to face the next task.

Meditation can alleviate stress in the following ways:

♦Relaxes nervous system.

♦Reduces headaches.

♦Enhances the immune system.

♦Decreases muscle tension.

♦Helps keep things in perspective.

Never forget that the main aim of meditation is to make your consciousness strong and make you feel optimistic about everything.
