The Olive Cellar, an Appleton specialty food shop on Northland Avenue, opened its second location in downtown Neenah on Wednesday.

The new branch is at 127 W. Wisconsin Ave., the former Soccer Locker spot.

The shop lets customers taste test extra virgin olive oils and aged balsamic vinegars before they buy. It also has olives, pasta and sauces imported from Italy and pastas made by the Appleton-based Dalla Terra Pasta company. Wisconsin Natural Acres honey from Chilton arrives shortly.

In Neenah, owners Gordon and Catherine Cole expanded the family operation to include their son Gordon as a partner. Catherine’s identical twin Nancy Beavers is store manager.

“We had the opportunity to buy the building in Neenah,” said Gordon Cole, who sunk nearly $200,000 in purchase and renovations. “Now it looks nothing like the Soccer Locker.”
