Ruby's Pantry is not a hand out - it is a hand up. The next distribution is planned for Thursday, Dec. 13. Registration is from 5 to 6 p.m.; distribution at 6 p.m.

The Nov. 8 pantry serving a record-breaking 271 families. Ruby's Pantry thanks the many guests who are not hesitant to come when in need and be welcomed into a family who is eager to meet their needs.

Ruby's Pantry is for anyone who eats. There are no requirements to qualify for food. We thank our participants for cheerfully donating $15 to the Ruby's Pantry program, which helps defray the trucking costs, warehousing, delivery, staff, insurance and a host of other expenses too numerous to list. Without your donations the program could not exist. We also want to thank our participants for bringing their own boxes or baskets or cloth grocery bags to receive their food.

We give a big thank you to local business. Festival Foods, Gellings Implement Inc., International Paper and Piggly Wiggly, for their donation of equipment and supplies needed; and to area news papers, radio and social media that have run advertisement for us.

Special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Zamzow who have tilled the ground to produce onions for us to distribute.

We are so grateful to the 30-70 faithful volunteers that come to give their time so unselfishly to help set up, repackage, register, distribute, carry out groceries, tear down and clean up every month. Without our volunteers, they would not be able to impact the community like they do.

We had a wonderful evening and our guests who came to participate and our volunteers were registered for door prizes of Kwik Trip Gas Cards and gift certificates for Ruby's Pantry.

Ruby's Pantry is a tri-state, faith-based, food relief program based in Pine City, MN. Donated bulk foods are distributed from 27+ sites reaching rural and larger communities. It is not government funded and relies solely on corporate donations. Ruby's Pantry of Fond du Lac has assisted locally, the Fox Valley and beyond.
