Neville hoping to turn dinos to dollars

Facing $90K shortfall, museum tries to drum up interest within the community

Two life-size dinosaur sculptures returned home to the Neville Public Museum of Brown County, amid hope that their arrival will signal an improving financial picture.

The sculptures, known as Big Mama and Baby Bones, were removed from the Neville Nov. 14 and taken to Renco Machine Co. for upgrades including new paint and new lighting. Sculptor Don De Baker also adjusted the positioning of the dinosaurs to give them a more natural look.

"As a builder, I could always see a bit of a defect and that bothered me," he said. "I'll be glad to see them in a correct position." ...
