Hampton Rock String Quartet conducts clinic at Lincoln High School

Think a string quartet is just Mozart and Beethoven? If that's what orchestra members at Lincoln and Sheboygan North high schools thought, they now know it also can mean Led Zeppelin, Bruce Springsteen or the Beach Boys.

Two dozen string orchestra students from Lincoln, about 60 from Sheboygan North and two students from Roncalli High School spent Thursday participating in a music clinic at Lincoln with the Hampton Rock String Quartet. The New Jersey-based group that formed in 1985 "plays classically influenced arrangements of classic rock," according to an informational brochure.
