Joe Demler has been on five Honor Flights, chartered excursions for World War II veterans to visit the memorial erected in their honor, and says he is filled with emotion on each trip.

But, he adds, it is the reception he and fellow veterans get upon their return to General Mitchell Field in Milwaukee that really gets to him.
