Police

A 46-year-old Marshfield man was taken into custody at 6:42 a.m. Thursday after a physical confrontation with a 49-year-old Marshfield woman in the 3400 block of Frey Court. The man was booked and transported to the Marathon County Jail. Police are requesting charges of false imprisonment and battery through the Marathon County district attorney's office, as well as false imprisonment through the Wood County district attorney.

A 30-year-old Marshfield man reported unauthorized use of his debit card at 10:18 a.m. Thursday.

A 34-year-old Marshfield woman reported to police that she found her daughter smoking marijuana at a friend's house at 4.26 p.m. Thursday. Police are forwarding the report to the Wood County Department of Human Services.

A 59-year-old Marshfield man, and a 28-year-old Marshfield woman reported the theft of about $300 worth of property from their residence in the 1600 block of South Washington Avenue at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday.

A 67-year-old Marshfield woman reported her mailbox was damaged sometime between 6:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of West Doege Street. Police believe the mailbox was hit by a vehicle's mirror.

A 28-year-old Marshfield man was found heavily intoxicated by police near the intersection of North Central Avenue and West Arnold Street at 1:37 a.m. Friday. Police learned he had left his two-year-old daughter at his residence in the 1000 block of West Laurel Street alone for several hours. He was then taken into custody, booked, and transported to the Wood County Jail. Charges of child abandonment are being requested through the Wood County district attorney.

Fire, ambulance

Marshfield Fire and Rescue responded to a rubbish fire in the 500 block of South Hume Avenue at 10 a.m. Thursday, and provided assistance to police in the 500 block of East 21st Street at 6:41 p.m. Thursday.

Ambulances responded to five medical emergencies in Marshfield on Thursday, including two traumatic injuries.
