First-quarter summary: Lions 7, Packers 0

Dec. 9, 2012

Matthew Stafford, 4-yard run (Jason Hanson kick), 7:16.
Keys: The Packers stuck strictly to their nickel defense during the first drive, which the Lions responded to by heavily running the ball, including a 22-yard reversal to wide receiver Mike Thomas on first-and-10 from the Packersí 35 to get into scoring territory. The Packers stuffed Mikel Leshoure on third-and-one from 3, but Detroit went for it on fourth down with Stafford faking the handoff to Leshoure, who ran left on a bootleg uncontested into the endzone after Frank Zombo lost containment.
Drive: 12 plays, 80 yards, 7:44.
