A 50-year-old man convicted of sexually assaulting relatives and other girls he knew is set to be released from prison next week.

Michael Robinson, an inmate at Oshkosh Correctional Institution, will be released Dec. 18 and move into a transitional living facility at 105 E. Richmond St., Shawano police Chief Ed Whealon said.

Robinson will be under GPS monitoring and is a lifetime registrant with the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry.

In 1991, Robinson was convicted in Shawano County of child enticement, three counts of second-degree sexual assault and fourth-degree sexual assault for victimizing girls ages 13, 14 and 16. Robinson was related to the 14-year-old girl.

A year later, Robinson was convicted of the first-degree sexual assault of a 7-year-old girl related to him.

Anyone with questions should call Shawano police Chief Ed Whealon at (715) 524-4545.
