Our pet of the week is a very friendly black and white young female cat. This cat would make a great family pet with her mellow demeanor and affection.

If you are interested, please stop by and see this beautiful cat.

The city of Marshfield maintains a contract with the Park View Pet Motel to care for the strays picked up within the city. The Park View Pet Motel also is a private boarding kennel at 1115 S. Lincoln Ave., in Marshfield.

By law, all stray animals must be kept for seven days. This is to allow owners adequate time to claim their pets. If an animal is not claimed on the eighth day, it then is ready for adoption.

If you are interested in adopting our pet of the week, you can visit the Park View Pet Motel during open hours:

? 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

? 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday.

? 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

The Park View Pet Motel is closed holidays. Its phone number is 715-384-2544.

The cost to adopt is $5 for a cat.

Remember, there is a state law indicating all dogs must be licensed, and a city ordinance requires cats to be licensed.

Marshfield pets can be found on the PetFinder website, too. Log on to http://mfldpets.petfinder.com.

If you would like more information about pet adoption, or have questions about pet ownership or adoption, call Ordinance Officer Dan Leonard or Officer Bob Larsen at the Marshfield Police Department at 715-384-0814.
