Cable news features a loop of what-ifs about the economy in the next year, and meanwhile, more families in Portage County are looking for help this Christmas than the last.

The Holiday Basket Project, organized by Operation Bootstrap, distributes Christmas dinners and gifts to families finding it hard getting by.

The project has received 50 more applications this year than last year - that is 50 more families that would appreciate help for the holidays. ...
