Morning roundup: Is Lang heading back to left guard?

Dec. 11, 2012

If T.J. Lang is healthy enough to play this week against the Chicago Bears, there's a possibility he will be put back at his familiar position at left guard.

When asked about that on Monday, coach MIke McCarthy said:

“We’ll see. We’ve got flexibility. T.J’s played pretty much every position for us except center, so he’ll be ready for anything.”

While McCarthy didn't give a direct answer, he didn't dismiss the prospect that Lang would return to guard, which would mean Don Barclay would stay at right tackle.

Barclay, an undrafted free agent rookie, has done a decent job at tackle. One school of thought says putting Lang at the familiar position of guard would strengthen the Packers' line overall.
