Snowplows, law enforcement busy with evening snowfall

Law enforcement and municipal snowplows were busy Sunday night after the area's first measurable snowfall.

Stevens Point received 5.9 inches of snow, while Plover received around 4.3 inches, according to the National Weather Service.

Both the Stevens Point Police Department and the Portage County Sheriff's Department had each received only a handful of calls because of the weather and traffic incidents - with no major injuries. While the Police Department reported few more calls through Monday morning, the Sheriff's Department responded to around a dozen winter-related calls. ...
