MADISON - The state Department of Workforce Development launched a Facebook page to share information, alerts and safety precautions related to traveling sales crews.

The page, at www.Facebook.com/WisconsinDoortoDoor, provides information on Malinda's Law, passed in 2009 to regulate traveling sales crews after a van crash killed seven teenagers working in such a crew.

Under the law, any traveling sales crew of two or more individuals must register with DWD's Equal Rights Division. Unlicensed crews can be reported to the Equal Rights Division at (608) 266-6860 or erinfo@dwd.wisconsin.gov.

Consumers who believe they were scammed by a traveling sales crew should contact the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection at (800) 422-7128.
