RDA rethinks grant for daytime homeless drop-in program in Green Bay

A program to give homeless people in downtown Green Bay somewhere to go during daylight hours hit a roadblock when the Redevelopment Authority had second thoughts about funding it.

Given a chance to rethink $11,000 it earlier allocated to the program, authority members on Tuesday suspended the authorization until the City Council addresses complaints that St. John the Evangelist Homeless Shelter, 413 St. John St., is drawing homeless people into Green Bay and creating public nuisances.

Lutheran Social Services proposed creating the drop-in center and was supported by the Green Bay ...
