As it turns out, Charles Woodson wasn't as close to returning as thought.

Despite practicing last week, the Green Bay Packers defensive back has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Chicago at the suggestion of the team's medical staff and Dr. Pat McKenzie, who felt it was in Woodson's best interest to wait another week.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy had pinpointed Sunday's game against the Bears for Woodson's return from a broken collarbone he sustained against St. Louis in October. ...
