Salvation Army needs donations to pick up pace

The Salvation Army of Brown County is running behind last year's donations and is only halfway to its $1.2 million goal for this Christmas holiday season.

"We desperately need help," said Capt. Ken Shiels, commander of the Salvation Army in the Green Bay area.

The organization so far has raised $615,541, which is down from $621,692 raised by this time last year. Efforts last year ultimately came up $30,000 short of the goal, which was $1.1 million at that time. ...
