Post-practice McCarthy: Sitton Questionable for Sunday

Dec. 14, 2012

Packers coach Mike McCarthy spoke to the media following Friday’s practice. Here are some highlights from his news conference:

-The Packers were without wide receiver Jordy Nelson (hamstring), running back James Starks (knee), defensive lineman C.J. Wilson (knee) and guard Josh Sitton at Friday’s practice.

-Charles Woodson was practicing with the defense despite being ruled out Sunday.

-Guard Josh Sitton (hip) is questionable for Sunday. After practice, he had a hip injury. The evaluation this morning is not good. He went through classroom and sat through practice. Hopefully, he’ll be ready to go. It flared up at practice Thursday.

- Woodson, Wilson, Starks, Nelson are out. Sitton is questionable, along with Donald Driver, Terrell Manning.

-Solve T.J. Lang's situation on Saturday. Sitton isn’t in a position where they have to make a roster move.

-Neal, House, Lang, McMillian and Newhouse are probable for Sunday.

-Look for Clay Matthews to play and make an impact. Might possibly have to watch his reps.

-It's tough to decide who to play where at cornerback. I think last week is an example of what competition does for you at any position. Everyone of those guys has been reped.

-Charles Woodson practiced again today. This isn't a matter of Charles not being mentally, conditionally ready to play. It's doctor's assessment of his collarbone. There's more football to be played after this.

-James Starks' knee is making progress with knee, but haven't given me a target of Tennesee or Minnesota.
