When Jerry Fontenot landed his first coaching job with the Green Bay Packers, he and his wife, Stephanie, figured it would be best for her to remain in their Chicago-area home with their school-aged three daughters.

"We weren't sure how long I'd be here when I came up," Fontenot said.

That was the summer of 2006, when Fontenot came in as a summer coaching intern. Coach Mike McCarthy asked him to remain with the team for the rest of the season in entry-level position known as "quality control" to assist with the offensive line.
