Packers receiver Greg Jennings reiterated today on NFL Network what he told the Press-Gazette last Friday about the prospects of returning to the Packers next season.
"An educated guess? ... I'm gonna lean to the 'no' side of it," Jennings told NFL Network. "That's my educated guess, my personal educated guess.”
Jennings, who will become a free agent after this season, said much the same thing in an interview with Press-Gazette reporter Rob Demovsky last week: http://pck.rs/WagiTO
Jennings told the Press-Gazette that to his knowledge, there have been no talks between the Packers and his agent about a contract extension.
He said he has noticed the similarity between his situation and those of former Packers players like Cullen Jenkins and Scott Wells, who recently played out their contracts and left in free agency without much, if any, interest from the Packers.
“That means something,” Jennings said of the lack of contract talks. “I don’t think we’re dumb. I don’t think we’re naïve, I don’t think those guys were naïve, either. Going into it, that was my way of thinking. I saw the trend. I don’t feel like I’m any exception. I go about my business as if I’m not an exception.”
In other words, Jennings sees himself playing somewhere else next season.
