Christmas at the Barn tonight

Alleluia Lutheran Church in Greenleaf and Bethany Lutheran Church in Kaukauna will host the annual Christmas at the Barn.

The family event will run from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at Rock K Ranch near Greenleaf.

A live nativity will be held in the barn every 30 minutes starting at 5:30. Other activities include a barn band, special music and caroling in the barn; free hayrides (the wagons leave every 20 minutes starting at 5:30; dress warmly for 40-minute round trip); a bonfire in the woods; and children's shows in the warming shed from 6 to 6:30 (Alleluia Puppets) and 6:30 to 8:30 ("The Magic of Christmas" with ventriloquist, puppets, clowns and more); and face painting.

Free hot chocolate, cider and cookies will be provided. Hot dogs, soda, water and chips will be available for purchase.

All events are free; donations are welcome. The ranch is 2 miles east of Greenleaf on Wisconsin 96 at 2372 Day Street.

LEGO workshop for kids Dec. 27

De Pere Community Center will host a LEGO Engineering Workshop for children ages 6 to 10 during their holiday break from school.

The workshop will run from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, Dec. 27, in the Oak Room at the Community Center, 600 Grant St.

Participants will work together in teams to build a variety of models, such as a drawbridge, catapult, motorized car, amusement-park ride and more.

Registration costs are $18 for De Pere residents and $33 for non-residents. A snack will be provided.
