To the editor:
According to the Congressional Budget Office, Obamacare will add as many as 32 million citizens to the ranks of us who are insured. Wisconsin's population is about 5.8 million. Michigan numbers almost 10 million. Indiana has something like 6.7 million residents. Minnesota, 5.5 million.
Add the people of Vermont, Delaware and New Hampshire in with the aforementioned states for an approximate total number of 31.2 million. That's equal to the population of Green Bay 300 times over!
This many people will be covered and treated. I think of the pain that will be absent from myriads. We'll have healthier mothers and children by the millions. Mental health will improve somewhat as anxiety concerning medical issues is bound to decrease. We'll have more money to spend on other necessities. Much good will come of this.
In the past several of our Presidents have tried to help those of us at the bottom to access health care. And now, at this time, with help from the voters, the Congress, the Supreme Court, and President Obama, the blessings of our excellent American healthcare is available to almost all of us. Thanks to all of the above and especially to God.
In the future, perhaps President Obama may be considered one of America's favorite Presidents. He's already one of mine.
