Boys basketball roundup: Kostichka, Wiese lead Algoma past Kewaunee

Algoma (6-3, 4-2 conf.) jumped out to a 19-9 first-quarter lead and never looked back; defeating their cross-county rivals Kewaunee (1-6, 1-4) 51-34 at Kewaunee on Dec. 18. It was Algoma's largest victory in the War on the Shore since the 2006-07 season.

Some of the game's best action occurred in the first quarter. The play of the night came early in the game from Kewaunee's Reggie Nimmer, who faked out his opponent and drove through a clear lane to dunk the ball.

Nimmer's Algoma counterpart Travis Kostichka had a monster first half. He scored the Wolves' first six points, scoring a total of 14 ...
