The Green Bay Packers figured they might get only one productive season from veteran center Jeff Saturday when they signed him as a free agent in March.

They didn't even get that.

On Friday, coach Mike McCarthy pulled the plug on Saturday, the longtime starter for the Indianapolis Colts who signed a two-year, $7.75 million contract with the Packers, and will give Evan Dietrich-Smith his first career start at center on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.
