Hotel Mead announces staff promotions

Hotel Mead has promoted several staff members, the Wisconsin Rapids hotel announced Thursday.

With more than 20 years in the hospitality industry, Kelly Giese now will serve as sales director for the hotel, where she has worked since 2010, according to a news release. Giese will work with the hotel's large accounts and associations.

A lifelong resident of Wisconsin Rapids who has worked at the hotel since 2007, Joan Mours has been promoted to special events coordinator, according to the news release. She will be in charge of booking one-time events, such as weddings, as well as birthday and anniversary celebrations.

Mike Fleischman, who most recently served as the hotel's executive chef, has been promoted to food and beverage director, according to the news release. Fleischman will oversee about 40 staff members from Cafe Mulino to Grand Avenue Tavern and banquets and catering events. He has worked at the hotel for more than eight years.

As the hotel's new marketing coordinator, Angel Whitehead will be responsible for all marketing aspects of the hotel, including website design, social media and banquet and catering for meetings, according to the news release. She has worked at the hotel since 2008.
