The bell ringers are gone, but the need is not.

The Salvation Army of Brown County said Thursday it is packing away its red kettles until next year, after raising $840,000 for its social service programs.

But the nonprofit needs another $360,000 to reach its goal in a fundraising drive that will continue through January. ...
