After a strike lasting nearly 10 weeks, members of Machinists Local 516 voted 112-59 on Jan. 19 to end their walkout at Manitowoc Cranes and return to work.

The dispute wasn't over pay but contract language management called "Freedom of Choice" and strikers called "union busting."

The HTR Media news staff selected the prolonged labor dispute as No. 6 on the list of top 10 stories of 2012 in Manitowoc County. ...
