Lauren Shnowske said she "freaked out" when she found out that she and the rest of the Mosinee High School Concert Choir had been invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

That was in August, before the school year started, and choir director Carla Dul had been dropping hints about where the choir would perform on the group's Facebook page. When Shnowske, 17, a senior, figured it out, "I was just so excited. I had a friend over, and he couldn't figure out why I was going crazy," she said.
