While Cassie Kurtzweil was pregnant with her son, Treyden, she often imagined all of the milestones she and her husband would experience with their new baby after he was born.
However, when Treyden was just a few months old, all of Kurtzweil's dreams for her son were turned upside down. She began noticing bruises on his legs, and after a series of tests, doctors diagnosed Treyden with a rare type of leukemia that affects bone marrow cells.
