According to the website consumerworld.org, many stores have tightened their return policies for merchandise this holiday season.

Several stores have even introduced different categories of goods, making return rules a little more difficult to follow, according to a ConsumerWorld press release.

For example, electronics might be subject to stricter rules than clothing. Any opened goods, especially digital cameras, computers, netbooks, cell phones, tablets, e-readers and gaming systems may have shorter return periods and might also be subject to restocking fees. Be aware that ...
