Fitness centers prepping for post New Year surge

Central Wisconsin fitness facilities are preparing for the surge of people looking to make good on their New Year's resolutions to get in shape.

According to research by The Integer Group and M/A/R/C Research, about 44 percent of those who establish a New Year's resolution vow to improve their fitness and 43 percent said they want to lose weight.

Most local gyms are expecting about a 10 percent increase in memberships during the holiday season, which helps position them for a successful 2013. ...
