UWGB update: The Phoenix is looking for its first three-game winning streak of the season after beating Marquette and South Dakota. This is the final nonconference home game of the season. UWGB begins Horizon League play on Jan. 3 at Wright State. ? Junior forward Daniel Turner is expected to return after missing seven games because of the sprained knee he sustained Nov. 20 at Idaho. Turner averaged 2.2 points and 1.6 rebounds per game in the five games he played in this season. ? Senior forward Brennan Cougill was reinstated after being suspended Dec. 15 for a violation of team rules. However, he isn't expected to play today. He will make his return against Wright State. ? Sophomore guard Keifer Sykes, who has scored in double figures in 26 of his last 29 games, was named the Horizon League player of the week for his two-game performance last week in which he averaged 18.5 points and 6.5 assists per game.

Illinois-Springfield update: The Prairie Stars were a late addition to UWGB's schedule after Butler left the Horizon League for the Atlantic 10 a year earlier than planned. They compete at the NCAA Division II level and are a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference. This is their only game against a Division I team this season. ? The Prairie Stars have lost three straight games, including a 109-107 loss in their last outing against Bethel on Dec. 13. ? Ten players have started at least one game this season for a team that averages 72.7 points per game.
