Hoteliers show city has room to grow

Each day that the renovations progress at the downtown, riverfront hotel, Rich Batley and John Pfefferle inch closer to launching a hotel that restores the community's original vision for the property.

Oshkosh has struggled for well beyond a decade to find a way to turn the deteriorating hotel and attached Oshkosh Convention Center back into the economic engine it was when it opened in 1986.

Batley and Pfefferle, in partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Foundation, will accomplish that when they reopen in late April following a 14-month, $15 million renovation of the ...
